The Friedenshaus (Peace House) is a community initiative with the goal of bringing people of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds together and fostering a culture of peace.

Coming Events
German help for beginners
Here you can learn and practice German in an informal and friendly atmosphere.
This support is free of charge.
Times:

Format:
The courses offer a mix of grammar and conversational learning. Our goal is to support you as you learn German.

Help with Homework
Students from families of refugees get help with their homework. Students have to bring their homework along.

Occasionally there are events designed for interaction, conversation and dialogue. These will be announced on the homepage under "coming events".
Sewing Group
(Quilting)

Sewing machines are available to be used for personal projects. There is also the opportunity to quilt.
Wednesday 17:00-19:00
Once a week we meet to make quilts (patchwork blankets) together. Through a multi-step process that's also suitable for beginners, we take old pieces of cloths from blankets, clothes, and other things, and sew them together in patterns, so that in the end we've made a pretty new blanket!
Quilting isn't just fun, it also serves a good purpose. The quilts are donated to a non-profit organization active in refugee camps, meaning that the blankets go to where they're really needed.
It doesn't matter if you are young or old, have lots of experience in sewing or are just a beginner. All are welcome to come, take a look and join in.
